About USRowing:
USRowing is a nonprofit organization recognized by the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee as the national governing body for the sport of rowing in the United States. The organization’s mission is to steward, strengthen, and grow American rowing by championing performance and igniting new passion for the sport.

USRowing selects, trains, and manages the teams that represent the U.S. in international competition. The organization serves multiple constituencies including novice learn-to-rowers, parents of rowers, masters rowers, adaptive rowers, collegiate rowers, indoor rowers and, most recently, coastal rowers.

Position Summary
The Membership & Learning Coordinator plays a critical operational and member-facing role supporting USRowing’s membership services and educational initiatives. This position serves as a frontline connection to members, ensuring timely responses to inquiries, smooth event logistics, and a positive in-person presence at regattas and learning events

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and service-minded, the Coordinator supports the execution of learning and development programs, assists with membership operations, and helps translate strategy into day-to-day action to support coaches, administrators, athletes, volunteers and more. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes and on the ground with members, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about rowing and community-building.

Key Responsibilities
  • Membership:
    • Respond to member inquiries via email, phone, and ticketing systems in a timely, friendly, and solution-oriented manner
    • Run and maintain recurring and ad hoc membership reports to support analytics, decision-making, and leadership updates
    • Support membership operations including data quality, account troubleshooting, and coordination with internal teams and vendors
    • Escalate complex or sensitive member issues to the Product and Member Experience Manager and others as needed
  • Learning and Development:
    • Provide logistical and operational support for in-person and virtual learning events, including clinics, conferences, certifications, and webinars
    • Coordinate schedules, materials, travel, and payments for instructors, speakers, and contractors
    • Support participant registration, attendance tracking, and post-event follow-up
    • Deliver certificates to coaches, update coach profiles, and ensure accurate records of participation and completion
    • Serve as a host and technical support for in-person and virtual events via Zoom as needed, including on weekends
    • Update courses and assist with course building on the Launch
  • Cross-Functionally:
    • Represent USRowing professionally and positively at regattas, conferences, and events as a visible point of contact for membership and education to engage directly with members, answer questions, and provide on-site support
    • Maintain organized documentation, timelines, and checklists to support smooth execution of initiatives
    • Support budget tracking, invoicing, and payment requests related to membership and learning programs
    • Support learning and membership communications and marketing by drafting copy, identifying stories, and working closely with the Community and Marketing/Communications team
    • Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and the member experience
Qualifications:
  • 2–4 years of experience in customer service, operations, events, or education
  • Thoughtful written and verbal communicator
  • Comfortable working with data, reports, and digital platforms
  • Willingness to travel to 8-10 events annually and work virtually over several weekends per year in addition (4-5)
  • Extremely detail-oriented, organized, and proactive
  • A collaborative team-player who asks for help when needed
  • Enjoys connecting with people, hearing their stories, and is a good listener
  • Rowing experience required
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Compensation/Benefits:
  • $50,000 - $54,000 based on experience
  • Unlimited PTO
